What year is a 76 plate?

A 76 plate is the September 2026 age identifier batch, covering cars first registered from 1 September 2026 to the end of February 2027. It follows the same rule as every September batch: the last two digits of the year, plus 50 (26 + 50 = 76).

The March 2026 batch, by contrast, used a plain 26 plate. Both cover cars from the same calendar year, just six months apart in when they were actually registered.
