How do I find my tyre pressures?

The correct tyre pressure for your car is normally printed on a sticker inside the driver's door pillar (visible when the door is open) or inside the fuel flap, and it's also in the handbook. It's worth checking there rather than guessing or reusing a figure from a different car, since the right pressure varies by model, and even by engine and trim.

Many cars list two figures: one for normal loading, and a higher one for when the car's fully loaded with passengers and luggage. Use whichever matches how you're actually using the car at the time.

Check pressures when the tyres are cold, ideally before a drive rather than after one, since driving heats the tyres and temporarily raises the reading.
