Who's responsible when someone drives for work

Questions
How often should employers check driving licences?
No law sets a fixed timetable. Health and safety guidance expects employers to make sure licences are valid and up to date, so many set a schedule based on risk, checking more often for drivers with penalty points. Motoble for Fleets lets you set the schedule for each driver and reminds you when a check is due.
Does Motoble check my drivers' insurance?
Not directly and that's on purpose: Each driver confirms that their insurance covers business use, on the schedule you set, and that confirmation is signed, date stamped and recorded in your account. If your insurer asks to see certificates, you can record that you've seen one without us keeping a copy, so you have a clear record of your checks with less personal data held.
Do you check driving licences?
Your driver creates an official check code on the GOV.UK licence service and shares it with you, and you record what it showed. We never see or keep the check code or the licence number.
Can I use it for vans?
Yes, cars and vans of any size. Vans over 3.5 tonnes and lorries come under extra rules, such as operator licences and tachographs, so we add a note to those vehicles that additional rules may apply.
What do my drivers need?
Just the link you send them. There's no app to install and no account to create. Simple, and less training or explanation for your organisation to roll out.
How do I pay?
Via standard business invoice, monthly or yearly. Paying yearly costs less.
